Georgia Weather: An Hour-By-Hour Look At A Rainy Weekend

The National Weather Service no longer lists tornadoes as a major concern for metro Atlanta in the next couple of days.

ATLANTA, GA — A stormy, wet weekend is on tap for metro Atlanta. A chance for some rain and thundershowers Friday afternoon is expected to turn into a near certainty of storms in north and central Georgia, the National Weather Service says.

Friday's forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of rain, followed by a 30 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms Friday night.

On Saturday, the chance of storms leaps to 80 percent. That 80 percent will continue into Saturday night, with storms eventually turning into showers.

Sunday's forecast calls for mostly showers, with the possibility of a thunderstorm. The chance for rain is again a whopping 80 percent, both Sunday and Sunday night.

At least it'll be relatively warm. High temperatures Friday through Sunday will mostly be in the upper 60s, with lows in the low 50s.

9 a.m.: 72 percent

Noon: 70 percent

3 p.m.: 68 percent
