GHSA Football Playoffs: Who Do Norcross High, Wesleyan Play in First Round?

Both Peachtree Corners schools will be on the road as the Georgia High School Association playoffs begin.

The playoff journey for Peachtree Corners’ two football-playing schools will begin in enemy territory this weekend.

Both Norcross High (Class 6A) and Wesleyan (2A) will play on the road Friday when the Georgia High School Association playoffs begin.

Norcross, the two-time defending state champ, beat Collins Hill 20-17 last week, but has lost two of its last three games. The Blue Devils, the fourth seed from Region 8, plays at Region 7 champ Archer (also 7-3) Friday in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs. Neither team is listed in the Georgia High School Daily rankings, though Archer has won seven straight games.

In Class 2A, Wesleyan (6-4), which lost 41-0 to Greater Atlanta Christian last week, is the No. 3 seed from Region 6, and will play at Heard County, which finished second in Region 5, despite its 5-5 overall record.

In all, 12 Gwinnett County are playing in the first round of the state playoffs this weekend. The county’s eight representatives in Class 6A face each other in four first-round games Friday.
