Gwinnett Deputy Charged After Meth Allegedly Found in Home

The Gwinnett Sheriff's Office said suspected drugs and paraphernalia were in "plain view" when another deputy stopped by with paperwork.

A Gwinnett County deputy was arrested Wednesday after methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found inside his home by another deputy.

Deputy Trenell Bullock, a Norcross resident according to jail records, has been charged with violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Bullock is a 15-year veteran of the sheriff’s office.

“On duty deputies were serving Deputy Trenell Bullock with administrative paperwork at his residence and observed what appeared to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the residence,” Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Deputy Shannon Volkodav said in the news release.

Bullock was arrested and taken to the Gwinnett County Jail without incident. He has been placed on administrative leave pending the completion of an investigation.

Jail records list Bullock’s address as being located on Chase Lane in Norcross.

No other information was released.

“It is our policy to document, investigate and prosecute, when appropriate, any instance of employee misconduct,” Volkodav said in the release.
