New CarMax Center Opens In Peachtree Corners, Employs 300 People

PEACHTREE CORNERS, GA — City, county, and state leaders descended on Peachtree Corners to celebrate the opening of CarMax’s first free-standing customer experience center at its new offices Wednesday. The company employees 300 at the center who assist customers over the phone or online to help them find their ideal vehicle, navigate financing, and provide any assistance needed, the City of Peachtree Corners said in a news release.

“We are happy to welcome CarMax to our city,” Weare Gratwick, Mayor Pro Tem, said in the release. “Peachtree Corners is strategically located making it an ideal location for companies like CarMax. And as a regional job hub, our city offers businesses a strong pool of potential employees from which to draw.”

The CarMax center occupies 35,000 square feet of a three-story building located at 5707 Peachtree Parkway. CarMax plans on expanding its new customer experience center concept nationwide. The Fortune 500 company has had an established presence in the Atlanta metro area for more than 20 years and currently employs approximately 2,000 Georgians. The company was founded in 1993 and is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia.
