Strong Thunderstorms On The Way Through Atlanta Saturday
The National Weather Service has issued a severe weather outlook for much of north and central Georgia for Saturday afternoon and evening.
ATLANTA, GA — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for north and central Georgia, including metro Atlanta, saying strong thunderstorms could hit the area Saturday.
According to the outlook, isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected Saturday afternoon, lingering into Saturday evening.
A few strong thunderstorms will be possible, according to the weather service. The primary hazards will be frequent lightning, gusty winds, small hail and heavy rainfall.

The hazardous weather outlook includes Bartow, Barrow, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Hall, Paulding, south Fulton, and Walton counties.

The National Weather Service forecast for Saturday calls for a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m. The 30 percent chance of rainfall will continue into Saturday night, mainly before 9 p.m.

The extended forecast shows a chance of thunderstorms every day from Sunday through next Friday as well. The best chances, according to the NWS, are late Sunday through Tuesday, as a weak cold front settles into the region and stalls.
