Wesleyan Serves Up New Community Tennis Program

The new program is open to kindergarten through fifth grade boys and girls throughout the community

Wesleyan School is adding tennis to its growing community league program this spring.

The tennis league, open to kindergarten through fifth grade boys and girls, is an opportunity for kids to learn the fundamentals of tennis in a fun and encouraging setting.

“This new league allows children in the community to learn the game of tennis, develop teamwork abilities, and play in a safe, nurturing environment regardless of where they attend school,” said Kelly Weatherly, director of auxiliary programs and outreach. “For our current families, this is another opportunity for us to provide a convenient experience without having to take children to another league across town.”

The tennis program begins on March 24 and runs through May 12. It will be held on Wesleyan’s Peachtree Corners campus.

Co-ed tennis is the latest addition to Wesleyan’s community league program. Earlier this year, the K-12 school introduced a flag football program. The school also hosts a basketball league, now in its 15th year, where hundreds of elementary-aged students from Peachtree Corners, Dunwoody, Brookhaven, Norcross, Johns Creek, Roswell, Alpharetta, Suwanee, and Duluth play.
