City Of Savannah To Provide Update On Train Noise/Safety Efforts

SAVANNAH, GA (Oct. 30, 2019) —The City of Savannah has been working actively with partners from the state and the private sector to address resident concerns relating to train noise and safety. Presently the City is working on potential solutions for train traffic concerns along President Street and noise reduction in the Midtown neighborhoods, located in Savannah’s 2nd district.

These efforts are being discussed actively with the new Eastern Wharf Line operator, WATCO, along with the Georgia Department of Transportation.

A media availability will be held on the north side of Victory Drive/Bull Street railroad crossing on Friday, Nov. 1, at 10 a.m. Additional details on City efforts on behalf of area residents will be shared at that time.
