Drug-Free World revved up Hinesville at Veteran’s Day Parade
The Drug-Free World-Georgia chapter was honored to celebrate our nation's veterans while also bringing attention to drug abuse.
Drug-Free World-Georgia revved up Hinesville, GA at the Veteran’s Day Parade Monday Nov 11, 2019.
The Drug-Free World-Georgia chapter was rolling through Hinesville in a Mustang 5.0 fully equipped with the DFW decals armed with materials to educate spectators on The Truth About Drugs, while paying tribute to all Veterans on this special day of recognition.
On a beautiful November day in a parking lot under the water tower that reads “Hinesville Home of the Bradwell Institute Lions” the Drug-Free World-Georgia car was noticed by other parade marchers such as a local Girl Scout Troupe and a group of young activists representing S.O.N.G. (Save Our Next Generation) wearing orange Anti-Bullying t-shirts and all took turns sitting in the driver’s seat with parents snapping pictures of the young ladies and gentlemen holding The Truth About Drugs booklets while they “drove” the parked car.

Periodically During the parade the 2011 Mustang 5.0 was revved to the redline in order to excite the crowd and draw even more attention to DrugFreeWorld.org decals on the car. Many spectators were veterans and family of veterans and they liked the low guttural sound of 412 ponies a.k.a. horsepower as well as taking a shine to the drug awareness message. With so many veterans and the general population overdosing on drugs every day, prescription and illicit, we need The Truth out there in large volumes before more people get hooked. Per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 70,237 drug overdose deaths were reported in 2017 with 67.8% or 47,600 relevant to opioids.
The more everyone knows about drug abuse the more lives that will be saved. So many started using drugs thinking they wouldn’t be a statistic and some just did what the doctor told them to do, until it was too late. Find out The Truth – drugfreeworld.org
