Hurricane Irma: Savannah Curfew Imposed
A mandatory curfew is in effect for Sunday night in Chatham County as Hurricane Irma continues its advance towards Georgia.

Since Chatham County and surrounding coastal counties are under a Hurricane Watch, a curfew will be in effect from 10 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday.
The Evacuation Assembly Area (EAA) at the Savannah Civic Center will close at 1 p.m. Sunday to ensure adequate travel time to get evacuees to shelter. Residents are asked to limit their luggage to two bags. You may bring domesticated animals in a crate and have their shot records on hand.

Areas of Chatham County in Zone A remain under mandatory evacuation, while Zones B and C of Chatham County are under a general evacuation order.

From 8 a.m. Monday into Tuesday morning, much of Georgia will be lashed by 40 to 60 mph winds and heavy rain as Irma barrels through the Southeast, weather forecasters say.
