Juneteenth Parade 2019 a Celebration of Freedom!
Drug-Free World of Georgia floats down MLK Jr Blvd with The Truth About Drugs.
For thousands of people in Atlanta that attended the Juneteenth Parade rolling down MLK Jr. Blvd all the way to the Home Depot Backyard at Mercedes Benz Stadium it had a very powerful meaning. Since, Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom for slaves in Texas that were kept slaves until 1895, 2 years after Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, this “Freedom Parade” now symbolizes freedom of any kind, including drug abuse. And what better way to help than for Drug-Free World of Georgia to be in the parade. Savannah's own Larry "Gator" Rivers led the Drug-Free World car, a 2011 Mustang GT with a DrugFreeWorld.org decal but it was Gator's Harlem Globetrotter talents that brought smiles to kids of all ages. That could only be followed with a beautiful float with beautiful people who got out the message - The Truth About Drugs. One lady along the parade route gave a "THANK YOU" right from her heart, to every one of the Drug-Free World volunteers, proclaiming her freedom of 11 years from drug abuse. She also wished for everyone to know the Truth and not ever be trapped by drugs in the first place. That is exactly what DrugFreeWorld.org is doing! Get the TRUTH!
Thanks to BIG BOB Johnson, Larry Gator Rivers, Vanessa Taylor and Drug-Free World of Georgia for making this all happen.
