VIDEO: Racist Jail Worker Fired After Georgia McDonald's Incident

SAVANNAH, GA — A Georgia sheriff's office employee has been fired in the wake of an incident at a Savannah McDonald's in which he made racist comments toward a woman.

The woman, identified as Cristina Riofrio, said she was speaking Spanish with her friends the night of Saturday, Sept. 21, at a local McDonald's when the man interjected with racist language.

After saying he had worked in the United States for 50 years, the man, later identified as Walter Browning, a jail maintenance mechanic with the Chatham County Sheriff's Office, told Riofrio she came here "on a f---ing boat."

Riofrio, who WSAV reported is a 19-year-old student at the Savannah College of Art and Design, was born in California, the outlet reported.

"You're a racist," she said.

"I know I am," he responded.

"You shouldn't be proud of that," she said, to which he responded "speak English."

An employee of the McDonald's is then heard asking Browning to leave.

He has since been fired, WSAV reported.
