Atlanta's longest-running Greek restaurant, Grecian Gyro, expands the family restaurant into Snellville, with 6th location.
SNELLVILLE, GA – Atlanta’s longest running Greek restaurant, Grecian Gyro, is opening its sixth Atlanta location today in Snellville, Georgia at 11 a.m. The family-owned restaurant brand opened its flagship
Hapeville location 36 years ago, and the newest addition to the “Big Greek family” is located in the Snellville Plaza Shopping Center at 2228 East Main St. Snellville, GA, 30078. “My father emigrated to the US with the dream of creating a better life for himself and his family, opening the first Grecian Gyro in Hapeville in 1982,” said George Koulouris, President, and Co-Owner of Grecian Gyro. “Thirty-five years later, we still feel like we’re living the American dream, and are so happy to be joining the Snellville community. We’ve already received a warm welcome from our neighbors.”
Founder Nick Koulouris opened the first Grecian Gyro with the dream of sharing a taste of his culture from Kalamata, Greece, in a fast, convenient, and family-friendly format. The menu at Grecian Gyro is comprised of classic Greek and Mediterranean specialties including handcrafted gyros and plates, fresh Greek salads, Grecian potatoes, spanakopita, hummus, and more. Each Grecian Gyro location serves lunch and dinner Monday - Saturday, offering a charming fast-casual dining experience reminiscent of a traditional Greek café.

George and his brother Pano now manage the Grecian Gyro brand, ensuring the same high standards their father set are maintained. That means only the freshest ingredients and produce are used, everything is chopped and prepared in-house, sauces are made from scratch, meats are hormone-free, and many ingredients are locally sourced.
Another contributing factor to Grecian Gyro’s success?
The Koulouris family’s philosophy that good business starts with valuing culture, community, and team spirit. Each restaurant prioritizes contributions to its local community through ongoing efforts like sponsoring school teams, free holiday meals for those in need, and collecting supplies for humanitarian efforts. “We’re lucky to have a few employees who have been with us for more than 20 years. They understand how much our brand values community and really take the lead on some of our community outreach,” said Koulouris.
Grecian Gyro’s Snellville location is open Monday – Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
