Fatal Motorcycle Accident Under Investigation In Snellville

A Snellville man died early Tuesday morning after crashing his motorcycle on Parkwood Road, the Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) said in a news release.

At about 12:30 a.m., officers responded to an accident in front of 2882 Parkwood Road in Snellville. A motorcycle driver was found lying unconscious in the driveway of the home.

The Gwinnett County Fire Department confirmed that the driver was deceased. Based on the preliminary investigation, George Butler, 44, of Snellville, was driving southbound on Parkwood Road towards Centerville Highway when he lost control of his vehicle while on a curve, GCPD said. Butler was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in a nearby driveway.

Butler’s helmet was not properly secured and had come off during the collision. The accident is under investigation.
