Jay Richard Smith, 59

Obituary: Smith loved to travel and play football and rugby.

Jay Richard Smith, age 59, went to heaven on Tuesday on October 29, 2013. 

Jay is survived by Kathy, his wife of 15 years, and their two daughters, Caroline 13, and Keeley, 12. Also, his mother Doris Alpert, brother Mike and wife Lynn Smith, sister Cheryl and husband John and a sister-in-law Renee Smith (Steve passed in 2008) and two nieces and three nephews. Plus many members of Kathy's family.

Jay loved to travel, play football and rugby and his three "girls". This year Jay was able to travel to many places, he spent 77 days of this year out of the country. He got to ride on a Camel in Cairo, an elephant in Thailand, surf the sand dunes in Egypt and fly around Mount Everest. Jay loved life and all it had to offer.

Services to honor the life of Jay Smith will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at noon at Cannon United Methodist Church, 2424 Webb Ginn House Road in Snellville, Georgia 30044.The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time with lunch following in the fellowship hall.
