The Midwest-based company continues Georgia expansion with fall opening on Scenic Highway.

A Midwest-based outdoors sports specialty company will continue its expansion into Georgia with a new store in southern Gwinnett County later this year.

Gander Mountain, headquartered in St. Paul, Minn., said in a news release it will open a store this fall on Scenic Highway at Essex Road in the Snellville area. The 52,000-square-foot store will be located in the Snellville Exchange shopping complex, next to the new Hobby Lobby location.

It will be the sixth Gander Mountain in Georgia and the first north of McDonough. The company opened its first store in Georgia in 2012.

“We are thrilled to bring another new Gander Mountain store to the people in Georgia, where outdoors traditions run deep and are passed down from generation to generation,” Gander Mountain CEO David Pratt said in a statement. “We welcome this opportunity to provide more people in metro Atlanta with opportunities to experience all that Gander Mountain offers.”

The store will feature gear and accessories for hunting, fishing, camping, boating and archery, as well as clothing and footwear.
