Ronald Reagan Park to Get $1 Million Renovation
The work will improve trails, bridges, the dog park and skate park.

Ronald Reagan Park, a popular recreation destination in Gwinnett County, will be getting a $1 million facelift in the near future
The 25-acre park, on Five Forks Trickum Road near Ronald Reagan Parkway, will be spruced up using money from a special-purpose, local-option sales tax and a $100,000 federal grant.
County commissioners approved a contract to do the work on Tuesday.

“We promised to use these SPLOST funds to maintain and improve our existing parks and this renovation of Ronald Reagan Park is a good example of how we’re delivering on that promise,” commission Chairman Charlotte Nash said in a news release.
The work is scheduled to include improvements to the park’s trail system and three bridges, the dog park, skate park, parking, storm drainage, stream bank stabilization, and landscaping.

The park first opened in 2004.
It is also home to horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts, a playground, picnic pavilions, two half-basketball courts and bocce courts.
