SUWANEE, GA – A car and a Suwanee townhome roof was destroyed by fire Sunday in the 300 block of Barbados Lane. A woman was evaluated and released at the scene by paramedics for a minor complaint. There were no other injuries.
Firefighters responded at 3:17 a.m., to a neighbor report of a townhome, reporting flames visible from the garage.
Crews arrived to find heavy fire showing from an attached garage in the center of a two-story townhome building. Firefighters quickly deployed fire attack hose lines and immediately entered the townhome to conduct a primary search and control the fire. Crews flowed water from multiple hand lines to extinguish the flames and checked for extension in adjoining townhomes. The blaze destroyed a car parked in the garage and burned the roof off over a portion of the attic. The fire extended inside part of the living space adjacent to the garage and caused extensive damage. Firefighters made a good stop on the flames and kept the fire from spreading throughout the townhome unit.
