Carrington Academy in Suwanee Gives Back to Community During Holiday Season
Students performed carols for seniors, donated gifts to children in need, and went on a "pay it forward" field trip
Carrington Academy in Suwanee recently organized several initiatives to give back to the community this holiday season. Throughout December, preschoolers collected gifts to fulfill the wishes of children in need through KARE for Kids, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides for children in Dawson County. On Dec. 7, pre-kindergarten students visited local retirement community Hearthside Johns Creek to perform carols for residents and help spread holiday cheer. On Dec. 23, Carrington Academy’s after school students went on a field trip to a nearby Target, where they handed out gift cards they collected to customers to “pay it forward.” Through these initiatives, students learned the importance of helping others in need and giving back to the community.
