Citizens Attend Atlanta-Charlotte Rail Service Meeting in Suwanee
Suwanee is one of the proposed rail stations for the high-speed passenger rail service.

Dozens of people attended a public meeting Tuesday to learn more about a high-speed passenger rail service that will connect Atlanta and Charlotte, N.C.
There are six proposed routes for the railway, including one that is along Interstate 85.
Suwanee could be one of the rail stations. Other proposed stations are: Athens, Atlanta's airport, Augusta, Convington, Doraville, Gainesville, Lawrenceville, Toccoa and Tucker.

“At this point, there is no preferred route based on any one consideration,” said DOT Project Manager Derrick Cameron in the Athens-Banner Herald.
The Atlanta to Charlotte Passenger Rail Corridor Investment Plan project began in June 2012, and it is scheduled to end in June 2015. The study is estimated to cost $4.8 million.
