Gwinnett County Police Report Downed Trees, Power Lines

Officers reported a downed power line on the sidewalk at Collins Hill Road and Taylor Road in Suwanee.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA—Officers with the Gwinnett County Police Department have reported downed power lines and trees in various parts of the county following Thursday's severe weather.

Around 12 p.m., police officers responded to a downed tree on Fence Road near Bailey Road in Dacula.

Prior to that, officers reported a downed power line on the sidewalk at Collins Hill Road and Taylor Road near Collins Hill High School in Suwanee. The power company was dispatched to the scene and power line is now secured, according to police.

Traffic lights went out in the area of Satellite Boulevard and Duluth Highway (SR120) a few hours ago; however, they are back up and running now, according to police.

Police continue to ask motorists to drive carefully and keep their eyes on the road at all times when driving in areas experiencing severe weather.

A flash flood warning is in effect for Gwinnett County until 2 p.m. Thursday.
