The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) name Kerensa Wing, principal of Collins Hill High School, as a finalist for its 2020 National Principal of the Year award. Wing is one of three finalists for the honor, Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) said in a news release.

The NASSP National Principal of the Year program recognizes outstanding middle school and high school principals who have succeeded in providing high-quality learning opportunities for students as well as demonstrating exemplary contributions to the profession, NASSP said. Each of the 50 states, Washington, D.C., the U.S. Department of State Office of Overseas Schools, and the Department of Defense Education Activity selected one middle level or high school principal to represent their state. From these state winners, three finalists are named as contenders for the National Principal of the Year award, GCPS said.

“I also would enjoy the opportunity to share the world-class work that my colleagues and I do here in GCPS, as well as learn from other great principals around the country," Wing said regarding the possibility of winning.
