How Did McCann Do in Gwinnett Braves Debut?
The Atlanta Braves' catcher and Duluth High grad played for Gwinnett on Thursday at Coolray Field as part of his rehabilitation.
Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann is working his way back to Turner Field. After playing three games with Class A Rome Braves, McCann started his stint with the Gwinnett Braves at Coolray Field on Thursday (May 2).
In October of last year, McCann, a Duluth High graduate, underwent surgery on his right shoulder.
While taking practice swings on deck before his first at-bat, a fan shouted to McCann and asked how his shoulder feels. “It feels great,” he shouted back.

The G-Braves took on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Thursday evening. McCann went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in the 4-1 loss.
Game 2 against the RailRiders is Friday night. First pitch is at 7:05pm.
