McDonald's to Tweak Drive-Thru Approach
The fast-food giant reportedly plans 'fast-forward' windows to speed things up. Share your thoughts.

McDonald's, which has several outlets in Suwanee and Gwinnett, is tweaking its drive-thru approach to keep pace with its competitors.
According to media reports, the fast-food giant will be adding a third drive-thru window to speed things up. Called Fast Forward Drive-Thru, the revamp will begin appearing in McDonald’s stores in 2014, according to a report in Bloomberg.
The second window also will be a pick-up window, with customers still paying at the first stop.
Drive-thru commerce is vitally important to McDonald's, generating as much as 70 percent of its sales, according to a comment in the Bloomberg report. However, McDonalds trails Wendy's and Taco Bell in drive-thru times, the report said.
Social media may be a factor in pushing McDonalds into the move.
“I HATE when McDonald’s makes me pull out of the drive thru line and wait in a parking spot like a chump,” @EmLynnClements posted on Nov. 14 on Twitter, according to Bloomberg.
