Suwanee Credit Card Thief Is At Large: Police

A Florida woman is wanted by police for breaking into a car, stealing a purse and using stolen credit cards at a Suwanee grocery store.

SUWANEE, GA — The Gwinnett County police are warning the public to be on the lookout for a Florida woman who's facing criminal charges for breaking into a car, stealing credit cards and using them at a Suwanee grocery store. She's been identified as Amber Lynn Dunlap, 27, of Lehigh Acres, Fla., the police said, and she's facing six felony warrants for her arrest.

Dunlap also is wanted by police in Covington, Ga., and the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.

The Gwinnett police say that on Jan. 20, Dunlap broke in to a vehicle at Collins Hill Park in Lawrenceville and stole a woman's purse and wallet.

Soon afterwards, the police said the victim’s stolen credit cards were used at the Kroger store at 2121 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road in unincorporated Suwanee. She was seen on a surveillance system using a stolen card to buy gift cards worth more than $1,000, the police said.

Dunlap was then seen leaving the parking lot in a white sedan, possibly a late model Toyota Corolla, the police said. Her whereabouts are unknown, and the police ask anyone who sees Dunlap to call 911.

The Gwinnett police have charged Dunlap with six felony counts, including entering an auto, financial transaction card theft (two counts) and criminal attempt to commit a felony (three counts).

Dunlap is described as a white female, about 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a black Adidas hoodie with a white Adidas logo on the front, black Adidas track pants with white stripes on the sides, and black shoes, the police said.
