Suwanee Man Pleads Guilty to Assaulting Park Ranger

A Suwanee man pleaded guilty Tuesday to attacking a park ranger one year ago in Hall County. 

Charles Brown Jordan, 25, admitted to assaulting U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ranger Ken Weiner, according to a Gainesville Times report.

The ranger was issuing an alcohol citation at the time, and Jordan was under the influence, the report stated.

Although he pleaded guilty, Jordan was quoted as saying "to be honest, I don’t really remember it."

The incident eventually led to Gov. Nathan Deal signing a law that makes it a misdemeanor to obstruct a park ranger, and that violence made upon that park ranger a felony.

If convicted of the felony, a person is subject to one to five years in prison.
