Woman Dies in Stabbing; Suspect Still At Large

The 33-year-old man is on foot and dangerous, say Gwinnett police, who are searching the Suwanee neighborhood where he was last seen Monday.

UPDATE (7:20 p.m.): A woman who was stabbed multiple times Monday in a Suwanee home has died, according to Gwinnett County police, and they're searching the neighborhood where the attack occurred. The police identified the suspect as Jesse L. Bodie, 33, who has warrants out for his arrest for a previous incident, according to a media report.

The police have saturated the neighborhood around the single-family house in the 3800 block of Crescent Walk Lane, accompanied by a SWAT team, WXIA-TV 11 Alive reported. They said that Bodie doesn't have access to a car and is likely on foot, and told residents to call 911 if they spot him.

The police describe Bodie as a black man with black hair and brown eyes, 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 170 pounds. The police were dispatched to the home at about 2:30 p.m., according to a report. The unidentified victim was found with multiple stab wounds, and she was taken to the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, where she later died.

The police believe the incident is domestic in nature, but they have not stated Bodie's connection to the victim, 11 Alive reported. The police said the suspect and victim have a history of domestic disputes.

UPDATE (5:45 p.m.): The Gwinnett County police have released a photo of a man wanted for stabbing an unidentified woman Monday while they deployed a SWAT team in searching the Suwanee neighborhood where the incident occurred, according to the department's Twitter feed. The police said they made a "reverse 911" call to the neighborhood to warn residents and find out if anyone has seen the suspect, who is believed to be on foot.

The police describe him as a black male, with black hair and brown eyes, 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 170 pounds. They said he does not have a car. A family member found the victim Monday suffering from stab wounds, the police said, and she was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The police have not released the stabbing victim's name, but they said there's a "history of domestic disputes between victim & suspect."

The police released a photo Monday of the house on Crescent Walk Lane where the incident occurred, with police tape around it.
