3,000 Masks Will Be Given To Tucker Residents
The city of Tucker will distribute 3,000 masks to residents who sign up through its expanded mask giveaway program.

TUCKER, GA — At least 3,000 masks are ready to be distributed in the city of Tucker through its mask giveaway program. They will be given out through a sign-up system and only to people who live within the City limits of Tucker.
Last month, the city gave out 6,400 masks to senior and long-term care facilities, small businesses and, individuals in need.
“We received tremendous feedback from the mask giveaway in May, but still heard from a number of people who missed out,” said City Manager Tami Hanlin in a statement. “It is a priority for our city leadership to equip our businesses and residents with this small item that may keep them just a little bit safer when they head out to the supermarket or conduct business.”

This giveaway will look a little different from what happened last month, according to city officials. Already, more than 3,000 masks have been distributed to daycare centers, in-home day cares and restaurants throughout Tucker. Only residents who sign up can receive them.
“The one downfall of the previous giveaways was they created a big traffic mess,” said Parks and Recreation Director Rip Robertson, who will oversee this round of giveaways. “By having people sign up ahead of time, either online or over the phone, we can schedule them to come in at an agreed upon time and place. This will help us to avoid having hundreds of cars queued up and having those waiting in the back of that line miss out on getting their masks.”

As of today, Tucker residents can sign up to receive their masks by either calling the Tucker Recreation Center at (470) 481-0205 or by registering online at www.tuckerga.gov/mask. City staff will verify the residency of all applicants and anyone who signs up but does not reside in the City will be automatically placed on a waiting list.
