Looking for a job? You will need a compelling resume, good interviewing techniques and a plan to reach the right employers.
You can develop these tools with help from experts at the Resume Café, a three-class program being hosted by NETWorks Cooperative Ministry in Tucker during September. There is no cost to attend.
In weekly, two-hour classes, professional counselors Carolyn Coburn-Allen and Claire Blake will focus on assessing each student’s work skills, writing a resume, and developing a plan to target likely employers. They will also help students practice job interviews, explain what to wear when meeting with employers, and how to follow up after speaking with them.

“The steps you need to take when looking for a job have changed in just the last few years,” Coburn-Allen said. “You need to make a list of likely employers to target and establish contacts in those companies. More than ever, jobs today are filled through referrals, and that requires a new way to think about the job search.”
Classes will be held the weeks of September 12, 19 and 26; specific dates and times will be announced soon. There is space for about 20 participants. For more information contact NETWorks at 770-939-6454 or visit www.networkscoop.org.
