Police Seeking Quarter-Stealing Laundry Bandits

The couple made off with $1,500 in quarters from dryers at an apartment-complex laundry in Tucker, police say.

TUCKER, GA -- Police are looking for a couple with a whole bunch of quarters.

According to Gwinnett County burglary detectives, two suspects stole about $1,500 in quarters from dryers at the Legacy Commons apartment complex by prying open coin boxes using a crow bar.

To do the math, that would be a haul of about 6,000 quarters.

The pair, a man and a woman, also caused damage to the coin boxes while committing the theft, police said in a news release.

A video camera captured images of the two during the March 23 robbery and police are asking for help identifying the suspects.
