Thanks to Petco for being a Generous Supporter of LifeLine Animal Project, and Meet our DeKalb County Pet of the Week

Meet a sweet boy who is confident, loyal and smart: Moreland

This week, I want to thank Petco for being a generous supporter of LifeLine Animal Project. In March, the Petco Foundation awarded LifeLine $100,000 continue our lifesaving work. LifeLine took over management of DeKalb and Fulton County Animal Services in 2013, and has since increased adoptions at the shelters by 98%. Last year, we cared for 15,559 homeless animals (that’s 43 new animals each day!), and we performed 12,280 low cost or free spay/neuters at our two clinics. The Petco Foundation’s Lifesaving Impact Grant is helping LifeLine save even more homeless animals by providing the critical funding we need to run lifesaving programs.

Petco also helps us in other ways. They house some of our homeless cats in their stores and care for them until they’re adopted, they allow us to hold weekly adoptions at their stores and they include us in their own adoption events. It’s obvious that Petco’s managers and staff love animals. It shows in the level of concern and care they provide our cats as well as the friendly and helpful way they interact with our staff.
