Tucker Preparing For Summer Swim Season

TUCKER, Ga. (April 27, 2021) – Summer swim season has never looked brighter in the City of Tucker. The City’s Parks and Recreation Department announced Tuesday that they will open both city pools to the public on Saturday May 29, just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

“We are making final preparations to the pools at Kelley Cofer and Rosenfeld Parks,” said Tucker Operations Manager Jason Collins. “The pools have never looked better. With proper social distancing and new amenities, we think patrons are in for a real treat.”

The new amenities include an aqua swing at Cofer Pool and a waterslide at Rosenfeld Pool, both of which could be installed in time for the start of swim season.

Despite those improvements, the cost of a summer membership will continue to be affordable in 2021. Families can join both pools for just $175. The individual rate will be $75 for the summer, while seniors and military veterans can join for $50. Passes can be purchased now at www.tuckerga.gov/parks.

Social distancing will be observed throughout the summer, with the Parks and Recreation Department capping the number of swimmers allowed at the pool through an online reservation system.

“It’s important to remember that we are still in a pandemic,” Collins said. “Our staff is committed to taking all the proper precautions to keep our patrons safe as they enjoy their summer.”

Kelley Cofer Park pool is located at 4259 N. Park Drive and has been a staple in the Tucker Parks and Recreation system since the department’s inception in 2018. Rosenfeld Park, formerly Smoke Rise Bath & Racquet, is located at 2088 Glacier Drive and was acquired by the City in 2020. Both pools welcomed hundreds of patrons last summer for the City’s most successful swim season yet.
