Honor Moms With The 'My Mother Has Sole 5K'
Your weekend planner in and around Virginia Highland and Druid Hills: A 5k race to support families, chamber music at Emory, a festival to celebrate Georgia (the country), an art celebration and Green Fest 2013.

There's plenty to do in and around Virginia Highland and Druid Hills this weekend. Here are five suggestions, but to see a full list of ideas go to the Patch calendar of events.
1. My Mother has Sole 3-Mile Family Fun Run/Walk. This Mother's Day weekend race encourages healthy families and benefits the Nicholas House Homeless Shelter. Starts at 7 a.m. Saturday at Manuel's Tavern. $20-$30.
2. Chamber music. The Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta performs at noon Friday at the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University, 571 S. Kilgo Circle NE. Free.

3. Celebrating Georgia, the country, not the state. The Georgian Cultural Festival was created to introduce and educate the local residents about the rich traditions and customs of the country Georgia. Includes traditional food, music and dance. 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday in John Howell Park at Virginia Ave NE & Barnett St NE. Free admission.
4. Art-B-Que. Come celebrate the arts in Avondale Estates. There will also be food and music throughout Saturday and Sunday in the Rail Arts District. Starts around 10 a.m. both days and lasts into the night.

5. Decatur Green Fest. Celebrate and learn about everything 'green' from 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday on the Decatur Court Square. The local beneficiary is Poverty is Real. Ed Roland and the Sweet Tea Project perform at 7 p.m. Free admission.
