If you’ve never been to La Tavola in Virginia Highland, there’s no better time to enjoy the ambiance and delicious cuisine than Valentine’s Day. The restaurant will feature dinner specials over the weekend such as pappardelle with duck ragu and pork roast with chestnut honey. On Monday, the restaurant will feature a special Valentine’s Day menu with various appetizers and entrees to choose from. The 3-course meal is $49/person, and reservations can be made online or via phone.

Want to do something more than wine and dine your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day? Make a reservation at Wired and Fired, a pottery-painting store in the heart of Virginia Highland. Buy one piece in a special section and get the second one of equal or lesser value for free through Feb. 14. Want to add a bit of romance to the date? Bring along a bottle (or two) of your favorite wine.

Known for elegant French-style dining, Murphy’s will offer a separate special menu, along with the regular menu, for Valentine’s Day dining. Specials include filet mignon and surf and turf combination. Murphy’s will also be treating each couple to a surprise gift. They will be open until 11 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13. Located in Morningside, this Southern-style neighborhood staple will feature Valentine’s Day specials in addition to the regular menu Sunday, Feb. 13, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Call the restaurant to reserve a table.

The neighborhood “sustainable seafood joint” will offer a special Valentine’s Day menu Monday night, but couples can try portions of the menu starting Friday. The menu features several appetizers and entrees including goat cheese fritters, ahi tuna and butter poached lobster and seared fois gras. Make a reservation online or via phone.
