Nearby: Café Intermezzo Could Open in Midtown on Monday

The planned Café Intermezzo at Midtown's 12th & Peachtree project could open as early as Monday.

A spokeswoman for the popular dessert eatery would not confirm the opening date, but a handwritten note at the new spot projects a March 25 opening.

Café Intermezzo owner Brian Olson wanted to be in Midtown, because "Midtown is the heart of Atlanta right now and it's a great location," according to the eatery's marketing manager, Melissa Brown.

Midtown's gain is Buckhead's loss. Café Intermezzo's location near Piedmont Hospital, which opened in December of 1987, will close.

Brown said that location's last day of operation will be the night before the Midtown spot opens for business.
