New Minister At Glenn Memorial Methodist

The United Methodist Church shuffled ministers over the summer, as it traditionally does, and there's a new face at one of the biggest Methodist churches in the Atlanta area.

Alice Rogers will be the senior pastor at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, the imposing edifice on the edge of the Emory University campus, according to the Emory University website. 

She's not traveling far, having served as a professor in the Candler School of Theology. She told the website,

“All of my academic career, I have felt a strong connection between the university and the church,” Rogers said. “At Glenn, I feel that part of my role as pastor is to help connect the church to the academy and also the surrounding community.”

She'll be the church's first senior female minister.
