Weekend Planner: Beer, Self-Defense, Art and More

Here's a list of what's going on in and around the Virginia-Highland and Druid Hills area this weekend:

1. The Local 6 Beer Competition at Diesel Filling Station: Sunday. A keg
   from each of the breweries will be tapped at 12:30p and the first keg to blow wins the honor of being named the king of the Local 6.
2. Teen Self-Defense Class at Get Grounded Teen Enrichment Studio: Sunday. Join the experts at Revved Up Kids for "Just Yell Fire" teen self-defense training. This class will teach teen girls age 11 and older how to recognize, avoid and escape violence from from strangers, acquaintances and dating partners.
3. A Play for Mature Audiences Only: All this weekend. This week at 7 Stages: the opening of the MIXED REVUES presentation of "QUILLS" and Stephen Banks's reprisal of his 2010 performance as The Marquis de Sade.
4. Zone of Light Studio: Kid's Art Night- 6pm-9:30pm: Friday. Tonight your child will create a seasonal, age-appropriate art project working with a certified teacher. Then they can relax and continue their art adventure, play a board game, or watch an age appropriate themed movie.
5. RLife LIVE presents: Carl Dylan: Thursday. Rooftop opens at 5 with live music beginning at 8pm. $3 draft specials all night!
