Weekender: Summerfest at John Howell Park
Other stuff to do in and around Virginia Highland and Druid Hills: A church 'jumble sale,' a memorial bike ride, bands at Blind Willie's and the Family Dog and a free movie in Decatur.

1. Summerfest. Summerfest 2013 is Virginia Highland's biggest community event of the year, so prepare for heavy traffic even if you're not going. You'll find art, activities for kids and a good lineup of bands at John Howell Park Saturday and Sunday. Free admission.
2. Jumble sale. A little bit of everything will be on sale at the Church of the Epiphany at 2089 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE. Starts at 9 a.m. Saturday. Free admission.
3. Warren Bruno Summerfest Celebration Ride. Honor one of the Summerfest founders with this memorial bike ride. It starts at 8 a.m. Sunday at Atkins Park Tavern at 794 N. Highland Ave. NE. $10.

4. Live music. At Blind Willie's, Sandra Hall performs Friday night, Big Bill Morganfield on Saturday. At the Family Dog, The Jauntee perform on Saturday and the Jez Graham Trio with Joe Gransden on Sunday.
5. Free Movies on the Decatur Square. DeKalb Medical is sponsoring this baby-themed movie, "Nine Months." Pre-movie activities start at 7:30 p.m. Friday and the movie begins when it turns dark.
