Cobb Appoints New Interim County Manager
At Tuesday meeting, Board of Commissioners appoint longtime county government veteran Rob Hosack to replace David Hankerson.
SOUTH COBB, GA -- Cobb County has a new interim manager, thanks to a Tuesday night vote by the Board of Commissioners, who appointed Rob Hosack. The nearly 30-year county government veteran replaces David Hankerson, who is retiring after more than 24 years in the position.
Hosack will supervise all county business and implement policies established by the board. He began his career with Cobb in 1986 as a planner in the Planning and Zoning Division, then was promoted to senior planner, coordinator for intergovernmental relations and planning division manager. For 15 years he served as director of the Community Development Agency.
Cobb is having a farewell retirement reception for Hankerson on Thursday, April 27, at the Cobb County Safety Village at 1220 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta. Residents are encouraged to come by between 9 and 11 a.m.

In more Cobb news, the county's first responders recently earned re-accreditation status from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, the third time that Cobb Fire and Emergency Services has achieved the feat. The accreditation criteria included a voluntary assessment that judged Cobb's standards as it relates to response time, response coverage and master or strategic plan development.
