The Cobb County Branch of the NAACP is gearing up for two days of Juneteenth celebrations this weekend at Glover Park.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day that slaves in Texas learned of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.Â
In recent years, other parts of the country have embraced the day and held their own events.
