Former Cobb Softball Coach Sentenced in Child Porn Case

Nicholas Mazza of Powder Springs had more than 140,000 images of child porn on his computer.

A former Cobb County youth softball coach was sentenced on Friday in a child porn case involving more than 140,000 images on his computer.

Nicholas Mazza, 67, of Powder Springs, was sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison for distributing and possessing the images, reports 11 Alive.

Mazza admitted in May that he possessed the images, some of which featured children as young as three being sexually abused.

Homeland Security investigators from the U.S. Department of Immigration & Customs Enforcement headed up the case, which began in November 2014 during a search of Mazza's home. Agents were alerted to Mazza while monitoring a peer-to-peer program through which Mazza made the pornography available for others to download.

Mazza was also sentenced to to serve 10 years of supervised release following his prison release.
