Monica Evette DeLancy-Cobb Commissioner District 4
Covid-19 has wreaked havoc on communities nationwide. This invisible terror apparently has ill regard for race, gender, geographical region, or even economic status.
What IS apparent, however, is Covid-19 will further devastate disadvantaged communities-where struggling to “make it” is not the by-product of a global pandemic, but an everyday occurrence. For Cobb District 4, this includes communities where residents live check to check, have little or no emergency savings, cannot afford basic healthcare, are single and heads of households, work in low wage jobs or industries, or spend more than 50% of their income on housing. Unfortunately, the physical, emotional and economic fallout from Covid-19 will be felt by our communities for years to come.
Now more than ever, Cobb District 4 residents, MUST elect a commissioner who is dedicated to serving their needs as they existed BEFORE Covid-19 and as they will continue to exist BEYOND Covid-19.
Monica Evette DeLancy, founder and president of “We Thrive in Riverside Renters Association” is the ONLY candidate who can do just that. A single mother of two, she has advocated for District 4 residents (most of whom are renters) seeking stable housing that is suitable to their wages and income. Monica Evette DeLancy keeps residents abreast of community resources designed to assist in times of need, partners with local law enforcement to proactively address concerns, personally meets with residents facing critical challenges, and provides numerous ongoing activities to enhance community and educational partnerships. Monica Evette DeLancy has and will continue to advocate for District 4 residents-often in an environment-where their “voices” are likely to be overshadowed and overlooked. '
The recipient of 19 community inspired awards, Monica Evette DeLancy is the candidate who “walks the walk.” Whether being honored by the NAACP as a “Living the Dream” recipient or by the Cobb Democratic Women’s Committee as “Community Advocate of the Year,” Monica Evette DeLancy is steadfast in her quest to improve the quality of life for residents of Cobb District 4.
For most candidates, the work of helping communities overcome challenges will solely be fueled by COVID-19. For Monica Evette DeLancy, this has AlWAYS been a way of service. She has my support and vote for Cobb Commissioner District 4!
