PICS: Georgia First Lady Reads To Students At Primrose School In Mableton

Georgia First Lady Sandra Deal met preschoolers at Primrose School of Providence Pavilion in Mableton.

SOUTH COBB, GA -- Georgia First Lady Sandra Deal visited Primrose School of Providence Pavilion in Mableton recently, where she will read to students during a book donation event. Mrs. Deal's visit to the school Thursday was got a double treat: Not only did the preschoolers get to enjoy the reading, but they collected more than 300 books as part of a book donation to Children Calvary Home.

Mrs. Deal has been visiting schools in metro Atlanta and elsewhere in Georgia this year to promote literacy in the state, which lags the nation in reading scores.

“Learning to read is a language skill that has been proven to increase the quality of life, especially when it is developed at an early age,” Deal said in a statement promoting reading literacy last month.
