Powder Springs Couple Dies in Head-on Collision

POWDER SPRINGS, GA — A Powder Springs couple died during an early Monday morning crash at the intersection of Macland Road and McMurry Drive.

Police say Richard Dow, 86, and his wife, Mary Jane Dow, 88, were involved in a head-on collision with Karlisa Darby, 22, of Dallas.

The Dows were in their 1998 Ford Crown Victoria on Macland Road when they collided with Darby in her Plymouth Voyager van.

Dow died on the scene, while his wife was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital but died.

Darby was also taken to the hospital where she is expected to survive her injuries.
