Powder Springs Ministry Takes Care of Children, Families

Church sponsors Christmas toy, food and coat giveaway.

Just a little over a year old, Connection International Ministries in Powder Springs is already doing great things for the community.

The church at 4331 Brownsville Road recently held its Christmas Connection Outreach Toy and Food giveaway with a plan to provide some 1,200 toys and 300 bikes, coats and food baskets to children and families in the community.

The folks at Connection International answered a few questions from Patch:

1. Tell us a little about your church and its mission.

Our Mission here at Connection International Ministries is to set the captive free by connecting and equipping our Community, Families and Youth, by developing interpersonal skills and basic life skills through education and training for the Glory of God.

2. Tell us about the toy and food giveaway.

Connection International Ministries is on track to serve more than 350 families with food, toys, and coats this holiday season.

3. What gave you the idea to do it?

Our pastor, Chuck B. Douglas and co-pastor, First Lady Theresa Douglas, have huge hearts and genuine desire to serve the community.

4. Who does it serve and how many?

Christmas Connections serves families in Cobb, Paulding and Douglas counties.

5. How can the public help?

Because this will be annual event, we are asking that the community donate brand new toys, non-perishable food, and new children coats.
