Woman Fatally Shot in Powder Springs

The suspect is the mother-in-law of the victim. The shooting happened shortly before noon on Thursday.

Cobb County, GA -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Powder Springs on Thursday.

The shooting happened at 11:29 at 6003 Wyndham Woods Drive, according to Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce.

Police were responding to a call regarding a woman who was deceased inside the home after being shot. When officers arrived, they located the victim, identified as Jenna Wall, 25, of Powder Springs.

"Also located in the residence was the suspect, identified Elizabeth Betsy Wall, 63 of Powder Springs," according to a police statement. "She was taken into custody without incident and has since been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony, and cruelty to children in the 3rd degree."

Elizabeth Wall is reportedly the mother-in-law of the victim. She is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
