2 Injured In Head-On Crash In Woodstock

The accident occurred Monday afternoon on Highway 92 at Trickum Road.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Two drivers who police say were trying to beat a changing traffic signal were injured Monday afternoon in a head-on crash in Woodstock.

Woodstock police spokesperson Sgt. Randy Milligan said one vehicle was traveling northbound on Trickum Road just south of Highway 92 during the mid-afternoon hours in an "attempt to beat the yellow light" while another vehicle going southbound was trying to turn east on Highway 92 before the traffic signal changed to red.

As both vehicles accelerated, they collided in the middle of the intersection, Milligan added. Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Milligan said based on witness and driver statements and evidence collected at the scene, the northbound driver was charged in connection to the crash.
