6th Annual Alzheimer’s Music Festival Comes To Woodstock

From Alzheimer's Music Festival: The 2017 Alzheimer’s Music Festival has announced the lineup of 20+ bands for its 6th annual event, which will take place at MadLife Stage & Studios (8722 Main St, Woodstock, Georgia 30188) on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 2-11 p.m. This year’s event will feature one stage indoors as well an outdoor stage. Alzheimer’s Music Fest has partnered with Dementia Spotlight Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to ensure net funds raised are used to support Alzheimer’s disease/dementia families who care for their loved one at home. General admission tickets are on sale here for $25 per individual ticket and $100-$200 per reserved tables.

A Go Fund Me account has been set up as an additional fundraiser for Alzheimer’s/dementia family caregivers to receive respite care so that they can run errands, keep appointments, shop for groceries, or even take a nap: things that many take for granted.

Inspired by families who provide care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease/dementia and for those affected with the disease, the Alzheimer’s Music Fest produces and presents a festival of musicians with diverse musical backgrounds who come together and celebrate the family caregiver. The festival’s goal is to raise funds for those families with limited financial resources, increase awareness about Alzheimer’s disease/dementia, and create a community of support for these families.

Founder and musician Vince Zangaro’s Alzheimer’s journey started over 10 years ago, when his father was diagnosed at 62. Zangaro and his wife, Amy, are the primary caregivers of “Pops”.
