HealthPort associates enjoyed their first home build day on Friday, Nov. 4 helping to paint the interior of the home. They worked side by side with the new homeowner.
The future occupants of the home, a single mom and her three children, ages 11, 8 and 7 years have faced many challenges. The youngest child encountered serious health issues as a toddler, which forced the mom to stay at home to provide care. As a single parent, she ultimately lost her job and, with significant medical bills, she lost her apartment, too. Raising her children on her own, the mom has come out of each challenge stronger than ever and is extremely grateful at the prospect of becoming a homeowner. Her children are now all healthy, vibrant and excited to soon have a home to live in.
