Carmel Elementary Named A National School Of Character
The Woodstock school was one of 29 recognized by the Character Education Partnership nationwide.

Carmel Elementary School has been recognized as a National School of Character for its commitment to character education and for fostering a positive environment for social and academic learning.
The honor, bestowed by the Character Education Partnership, was awarded to only 29 schools and school districts across the country.
Schools are selected for using character education to increase academic achievement, reduce student disciplinary action and create an atmosphere viewed as caring and supportive by students, parents and the community.

“Character education is just as important in our schools as learning the core subjects, as good character is vital not only to students’ success and happiness in school, but also in their future careers and as citizens and leaders in our community,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Frank R. Petruzielo said. “Carmel Elementary School is a shining example of what every Cherokee County School District school strives to be each day: a positive place for teaching and learning.”
