Charlotte Leonard, Wife of Woodstock Councilman, Dies

Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 8 at Lakeside Funeral Home.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- Funeral services will be held Tuesday for Charlotte Leonard, the wife of Woodstock City Councilman Bud Leonard, who passed away earlier this week.

According to a notice on Lakeside Funeral Home's website, visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8 at the facility at 121 Claremore Drive.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9 at Mt. Paran North Church of God at 1700 Allgood Road in Marietta. Interment will follow at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

Charlotte Leonard died Tuesday, Aug. 2 after she was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago for medical complications.

"My precious Charlotte is now in the arms of her Lord," Leonard said Tuesday on his Facebook page. "Our Savior Jesus. She finished her earthly journey at 2:30 today and is now enjoying the wonders of heaven. 1 Corinthians 2:9. Can't wait to see her again."

The city of Woodstock has cancelled its Aug. 8 City Council meeting out of respect for the Leonard family.

"Council member Leonard and his family thank you for your thoughts, prayers and kind words," the city said in a message.
